I would say that Little Tokyo is more similar to H-Mart than it is to 99 Ranch. In my option H-Mart offers more Korean foods, while 99 Ranch has more Chinese foods. Although Little Tokyo Market is in Little Tokyo L.A., it seems to offer a larger selection of Korean Foods than Japanese Foods. Hope that helps you.
If you like Japanese food, definitely yes. If you just want good fresh fruits , veggies and fish, also yes.
As David said its mainly korean food. Produce is hit or miss, very high prices. Seafoid is better quality than 99 ranch but still need to know what your looking for freshness or just buy live from the tanks. Unless you have an iron constitution dont eat the hot food. In recent years its left out all day, and Ive gotten sick. In the past I used to get lunch every day. The sushi joint in the market itself is awesome. Its a counter, but tjey make wonderful plates for a fair price.
We like to shop here if we are around the Little Tokyo area, and there is a Ramen place called Sakura that we love going to, we also enjoy shopping at 99 Ranch and H Mart too
