I know they have a restaurant in the Museum, but are there any interesting restaurants nearby? A little upscale, no fast food.

If you head a mile down Broadway you'll find more upscale places in the Artist's Village neighborhood

Actually about five minutes away in the City of Orange Circle. There is Fidels, great authentic Cuban food, Gabbys, an upscale traditional Mexican food. Though with Gabbys, the food is great but try and make reservations ahead of time. There's also some wine bars and other unique restaurants. All within the traffic circle which has a gazebo in the center and tons of antique shops. Great place to end the day or browse for a couple hours.
