Walmart takes an active role in customer safety. All Walmart stores close at 8:30 pm as far as I know. This is for extra cleaning and restocking the shelves. As for store hours being updated I cant answer that but it sounds like a miscommunication.
Because they don't care about their customers even a little bit.
