I know that they do use sugar . I make my own and I can tell you that there is a lot more salt than sugar . When I make mine it's 3 parts salt 2 one part sugar . About a half cup too a 5 gal . Bucket .
Not sure if Morse's will divulge their recipe, but many sauerkrauts don't call for sugar at all. Based on a little research of other recipes, I'd be very surprised if there was more than a teaspoon of sugar per cup.
Every brand varies as does home made varieties. You would need to contact them directly regarding what they carry. Most sauerkraut is naturally lactose fermented without sugar.
