AAA does not itself check the cars. You need to take it to mechanic for that. I Recomend Wards Service in Monrovia which is a AAA approved garage doing business in the area since the 1920s

When you buy a car it does not have insurance. You have to add that for yourself. The AAA office can do the insurance and registration for you. You will need a smog check done on the vehicle to register it. Martin's Auto Worx in Pasadena can perform the smog inspection. And also a safety inspection for you.
