Hello, yes they do have a spare tire in the trunk. I am not sure of the BMW that are exported to the US since my family came from Munich, Germany and my father used to work at BMW. All BMW'S are equipped with a spare tire. I am not sure why some others say different. Anyways, I currently drive one and bought it here and we had to change our tire and there was a spare in the trunk of my car. Hope this helps
Almost all Bimmers since '14 have run flats. If you get a puncture or air leak you can drive approximately 80-90 miles. However, runflats cannot be repaired, so you need to replace the tire. Depending on the tire size, replacement costs can be very expensive, up to $700. Also, they're more sensitive to potholes and other road defects. If you haven't already, get the wheel and tire insurance, it will pay for itself many times over.
About 90% don't have a spare because of the use of runflat tires, although some models can be optioned without runflats and with a spare.
If you have run flats, you don't need one.
