If you live in the Valley you take the shuttle buses for $6 from Ventura and Lankershim in Universal City. Park for free in that lot. I never drive to the boel.
Regular parking they take cash from you at the entrance. Problem is they do stacked parking and you have to wait in your car until the cars all around are ready to go to be able to exit
The buses are the way to go. They drop you off right at the entrance and there isn't any hassle parking. I suggest pee-paying for the bus tickets. If you drive yourself, you'll end up sitting in traffic, for a long time, just to get out of the parking lots.
Depending on where you live, there are buses to get you there in plenty of time for the concert. If you want to drive. There are parking lots around the bowl on Highland. About $20 to park.
I think you just pull in and pay at the entrance to the lot. However, don't park there if you plan on leaving early because all cars are blocked in until everyone leaves. In that case, you may want to take a Lyft or park at one of the nearby lots.
We took a shuttle bus from Lakewood mall so nice no parking Hassle for 12 dollars round trip
