I was born in England in August 1952, my father a US airman who served honourable, was a Born and bred American ,he knew nothing about my birth so could not register me, I'm I a US citizen !

Hello. You are not a U.S. Citizen just because your father was a U.S. Citizen. The fact he knew nothing about shows he never legitimated your birth, and therefore, you cannot derive citizenship through your father.
