Years ago. Sears Point to Infinieon Speedway, to now, Sonoma Raceway. I still call it Sears Point from when I started going there in the 80's.

Excellent knowledge Brad! And you to Chuck.
They changed the name about 5 years ago..!
Yes, many many years ago!! I too still call it Sears Point occasionally. Only in recent years, especially when it became Infineon, I started call it Sonoma cuz tbats where it is. Like Auto Club will always just be Fontana to me lol
In 2002, Sears Point Raceway was renamed after a corporate sponsor, Infineon. However, as with many renamings of sports complexes, many people still call it by its original name. (It was never affiliated with Sears, Roebuck and Company, having been named for the nearby Sears Point Ranch founded in the 1850s by settler Franklin Sears.) On March 7, 2012, it was announced that Infineon would not renew their contract for naming rights when the deal expired in May, and the track management is looking for a new company to take over naming rights.[3]Until it can find a new corporate sponsor, the course is simply identifying itself as "Sonoma".
Chuck's right
The race track has always been located on the property at Sears Point. The race track itself has changed names several times and is officially now named as Sonoma Raceway at Sears Point.
3rd nomination and motion for Sears Point. The sponsorship naming changes happened over a decade ago. Similar to Laguna Seca down in Monterey.
