It's also very scenic. You could park one car at the Sweetwater Summit Park and another in Rancho San Diego at the Sweetwater River Trail parking and do a 7+ miles one way hike that is fairly easy along the hills above Sweetater Reservoir and along the Sweetwater River course. You will go through several ecosystems and terrain. However there is no water available after you leave Summit Park. So carry extra.
