Great place to camp and ride bikes. Lots of trails. On the edge of the city. Great for feeling you are getting away without going far. Staff is really nice. Restrooms are clean with flush toilets (accept at the bike park). Bike parks had things for everyone from kids on striders to pros. You might even see a back flip or two!

Great Value. Nice and quiet. Camp's too close to each other. Beautiful weather was in the 70's. A few of us campers were invaded by little ants. Not a few but the whole village forging for food. Taking bug spray next time!!! Would go again!

We really like this park. Water park is $3 a kid and worth every cent. Gets real busy on the weekends. Go early if you want to stake out a picnic spot! Work out areas and trails. Bring your bikes!

Great park to get away to for a couple of days. Quiet peaceful and reasonably priced. Fishing was a bust nobody was catching anything but still fun to throw the line and relax.

All fires must be out from 11 pm until 7 am. You can reasonably use fire to cook all meals. Firewood must be purchased ($5/bundle onsite). Obviously only burn in fire rings and do not leave fires unattended.
We went for an hour to check out the community center prior to renting. No charge.
yeah there's WiFi !!! it's through the San Diego county website....coverage is decent, stretching nearly the entire park....thumbs up county dudes....🌝🤟
The base rate is $26 for basic camp site with Electrical outlets and 2 water hookups. Slightly more for the camp sites sewage hookup also There is a separate sewage dump away from campsites. Extra vehicles you pay for overnight privilege. 2 camp sections: North loop is Newer, nicer bath & shower facility ( you pay with quarters for shower time ) SOUTH LOOP is older section, but has tall shade trees at most camp sites, but not all. ***See my review for photo of the price info sheet.
930 am, there is no check it. They open the gate. Also closed during rain and the day after. Follow their facebook page for times.
Not much out there, but I did find this video: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=T4lb5fMDMvY I recommend calling and asking for images. The website says it's a 60 foot pavilion that seats 100.
Yes. You can camp in tents and Rv's. They have electric and water on every site.
Not a horse person. But there was alot of horse related stuff there. There was a large circular fenced area and lots of horse owners nearby.
No smoking allowed especially next to big fire you built on your campsite. Hmmm like saying you can't drink beer at a bar. If you really need to smoke one, 🚬 Just go off-site a 1 min trip. Bring a bike to the camp site and work the lungs over to your smoke break.
Yes I believe so.
No there isn't that's the bad part
I doubt it, Seemed like a pretty relaxed place. Why would they require a car?
120 for the executive membership. Since I pretty much but from them a lot ( I have 2 hungry teenagers at home). I usually buy that one because at the end of the year I get money back. It gives you a percentage back on the purchases you made during the year. Every year it pays for itself and then some
I'm not sure about the extra rate for am additional trailer, but we are at the park right now......and the ants ARE terrible. Come with industrial strenghth ant spray and lay down a barrier. Make sure you have a second can for inside. The ants WILL hike up the electric cotf, water hose, sewer pipe, stabilizer jacks, etc., and set up house keeping. We have been here 5 days and spent more time battling ants than enjoying ourselves. Frankly, it's pretty stressful and I can't wait to go home.... Sad.
You can on SDPARKS.org
30bucks to 35bucks per night it depends on the location of your camp. Yup you are allowed make fire and grill until 11pm.
Don't know about swimming in the lake, but you can bring a pop up trailer and bbq if you wanted to do so.
Yes, you can get close to 40 channels over the air with a boosted antenna.
The water park is open from Dawn to Dusk......
Yes! About a half mile walk
I'm not sure but there is no over nights where we were
I'm seeing $34/night. Reservations are made at http://reservations.sdparks.org
We brought beers at the picnic area.. You might need to check with them before going. Community building might have different rules.. Good luck....
But worth it It has the country/wilderness feel to it. And well maintained in the beautiful city of Bonita.Which means pretty in Spanish
Call the office
Parking fee is $3. Splash playground is $3 per child per day. They also have individual & family of 3 season pass.
If u go to the park just for the day there is NO CHARGE (its free to the public..) if u gonna get in the water or camping there is a charge. There is no problem with hicking or biking around the park if u r not camping..(its about $3 for the little water section n about $25 for camping)
I can't tell you when it opened but it is very modern. The park was expanded about 5 years ago. The older area has lots of shade under mature trees.
Yes
Depending on what site you have the prices range from partial (electric only) $34, full hookups $38 & group family is $41. We like the partial hook up sites because of all the shade from the trees. The full & groups have no shade at all!
Not sure, but probably.....there's a lot of open space.
No there isn't cabins at this location. They have RV spots, and spots for tents. They also have corrals for your horses at some of the spots. Full electricity and water at each site.
It's sectioned off tents on 1 side rv's on the other
Only if you become a campground host and apply but no day by day I don't know if any
There are 2 types of spaces. There are the RV spaces and then there are the tent only spaces. You can put two tents in an RV space or you can get one tent in the tent area. The RV spaces are $33 and night. I would assume that the 10th spaces are a little less expensive.
It's also very scenic. You could park one car at the Sweetwater Summit Park and another in Rancho San Diego at the Sweetwater River Trail parking and do a 7+ miles one way hike that is fairly easy along the hills above Sweetater Reservoir and along the Sweetwater River course. You will go through several ecosystems and terrain. However there is no water available after you leave Summit Park. So carry extra.
