Hi I am from England and would like to visit the ranch this year. I've heard Portland, Oregan is the best airport to fly into and its about 1 hr 30 mins away. Is it best to hire a car or are there nearby train or bus / coach links?

I was a volunteer at ECETI for 3 months last fall, and Portland is the best airport. It is more like 2.5 hours from Portland to Trout Lake. It is a beautiful drive; the Hood River Gorge is amazing. Stop for necessities in Hood River, OR, it is the closest big town, about 20 minutes from the ranch. Renting a car is ideal. Then you have the means to check out local trails, have dinner in White Salmon or Hood River one night if you like ... It helps a lot. I was there as a guest at the July 4th conference last year, and I had a friend living in WA who was attending the conference w me, pick me up at the Portland airport. It was a marvelous experience, and led to my being a volunteer. If you don't like porta-potties, try and get a room in the guest house which has its own bathroom. Although the bath houses have 3 showers and 3 stalls for each (male and female) and I never had trouble getting a shower when I wanted it. It was unusually hot when I was there, and I was glad i had my swimsuit!

I agree with Above, also sometimes people car pool depending on when your arriving. I may be giving a friend a drive from Portland Oregon Airport to ECETI in July 4th Through the 7th. If your coming for that event. Let's ride together !

Rent a car and drive from Portland airport to the ranch and be sure to make reservations at the ranch.

I will be attending a workshop this weekend and do not know what to bring. We have cabin reservations and have not seen any information on your website of what is or isn't provided.

Absolutely agree w everyone else. I'm sure eceti will be the highlight of your trip! I stayed in the house w 4 bedrooms and 1 bath and had 0 issues. My roomies turned out to be amazing people. James is a hoot and the breakfasts were tasty. Definitely stock up along the way. Hood is a little pricey. Best.

I would rent a car from Portland airport. Beautiful drive. Eceti is a beautiful place. Tons of great hikes in the area.
