It's NO kill shelter!only if the animal is suffering or really sick and nothing can be done for it then they"put it down "
The person who claimed the Humane Society transfers animals to the County shelter to be euthanized to maintain its “no-kill” status, Is incorrect. That does not happen and this is a false rumor.
Sonoma Humane only euthanized animals under very specific conditions. If the animal has no quality of life and is very very ill and in a lot of pain, if the animal is a danger to the public. They are not county funded, and therefore do not have to accept every animal brought to their doors. They are a magnificent organization and they work together with the county shelter to save as many animals as possible.
They send those they feel are unadoptable to the animal shelter to be put down. That’s what makes it possible for them to be a “no kill” facility.
No - they don't!
What happens with the animal if it needs working with to be in a home before ready for immediate adoption . Are they sent to animal control to possibly be euthanized?
.. Hope! ..
Only under extreme conditions like dangerous or suffering animals.
The only times this shelter will euthanize animals is if they are extremely ill and they could do literally nothing for it... they won’t just kill an old dog who nobody wants, unless the poor animal really is suffering
Need a bit more info. Thank you.
