Depends on how close you want to be and how much you want to spend. It also depends on if you want to only be in the winery area (South Cost winery), or near "Old Town"(Hampton Inn), or stay at Pachanga. Heck Peltzer even has a love shack on site. Temecula is long with multiple places to stay. Also worth mentioning, Airbnb.
Hampton Inn is close off the freeway and nice.
South coast winery is your best bet for a hotel. They have nice cottages that you can rent. If you are a camper, lake Skinner is only a few minutes from Peltzer and Uber will pick you up. I have done both and would recommend both.
There are hotel's within miles from Peltzer Winery....its worth it
