Still trying to get over the fact this is a cemetery turned into a multipurpose park/cemetery. Bodies are still there. Growing up Catholic this baffles me.

Definitely quiet maybe because the 4,000 people buried there are dead.

... Catholic Canon Law says that nothing can go on top of consecrated graves, other than an altar to God, or a crucifix of Christ. The Archdiocese of San Diego can not give 5,000 Catholic consecrated graves to anyone, let alone the secular corporation of the City of San Diego. The Dead, the Living, and the yet to be born are all equal parts to the mystical Body of Christ. But nowadays, the Dead and the yet to be born, are worthless disrespected blobs, which is the constant reminder of our own past, and our own future. There is a bigger picture here.

I saw this place on a Ghost and Graveyard tour out of Old Town. Beautiful park in a nice quiet neighborhood. Kinda campy tour, but full of history about the area.
