Is the recliner lever adjustable? I recently had shoulder surgery and it is very hard to recline .

The standard handle that operates the footrest is not adjustable. The tension to push the back is adjustable with wingnuts under the seat

Ours are automatic and operate independently.

If you mean, place lever on otherwise - I don't know. They may have a longer lever that might help. Give'em a call.
