#1. If the fire extinguisher cylinder is completely empty, meaning no powder or liquid in the cylinder and does not have any pressure, you can unscrew the valve and recycle it yourself. #2. If the dry chemical or liquid filled fire extinguisher cylinders is partially or completely full, you can: A. Bring the extinguisher cylinders into your local Oxarc location and pay a disposal fee of $8.00 per cylinder to have them disposed of. B. Take the extinguisher cylinders to your local dump. Go to the hazardous waste material area for them to dispose of cylinders.
If its empty you can recycle it. If its still full or partially full, take ot to the hazardous waste portion of the dump.
