You can park on main st for free.
If you're going to be in Portland, there are plenty of great places to eat right in Portland. In my opinion it is not worth driving to Biddeford to go to the palace diner. My favorite is Marcy's on Oak and Free streets. Becky's on commercial street is a classic as well. If you want something a little more upscale, try The Front Room on Munjoy Hill.
