Last year's cup and this year's cup are the same. We were told this at Christmas when we were there. We were also informed that you can use last year's cup this year and get this year's refill price since the design did not change.
You can get refills in previous year's cups but they charge a bit more. Using the current season's cup is 99 cents while previous years are about $3 or $4 (no idea what this season's prices will be). Its not a huge difference if you're only coming a couple times but it adds up over multiple refills and visits to the park. If you're going to refill at least 4 or 5 times, go ahead and get the new cups for your collection and your wallet.

You can get refills in previous year cups, but it costs more than with the current year's cup. I believe $0.99 for current year, and at least double that or more for prior year cups.
