what year did they open

I know it was in the '70s, but not sure exactly what year. (Also, I read your review from a year ago. That's a terrible experience, and your 1-star rating is perfectly understandable. I had never been there before a few months ago, but it's been great for me every time. Like a lot of bars though, your experience is subject to change with your bartender. If you do decide to give them another chance, I would recommend service from Bobby, Nina, or Jordyn, roughly in that order.)
