How the tripod will be used is the main factor. If she will use it traveling, then one of the light weight ones that fold compactly would be best. If she will be using a heavy lens, then a more substantial tripod will be needed. Choose one that has a ball head mount. There is a good selection and the staff will be very helpful. As in many things you get what you pay for.
Stability and weight. Would recommend asking people at image one as they are extremely helpful.
Tripods are very useful. Ask a salesman and they can match her shooting style to a proper tripod.
