I was impressed by the actual size of the 2 nuclear devices dropped on Japan. The place is very clean and well thought out.
I agree with Stephen, the Doolittle Travis Heritage Museum is a great choice with dozens of vintage and some contemporary aircraft both inside and out of the building with staged scenes of WWI, WWII, and of course the Vietnam War and the Berlin Airlift. Just simply drive toward the main gate on Airbase Parkway to the Travis Visitor Center right outside of the base to get a pass onto the base and the guards will give you directions. Also, If you are in the area of Southern California, March AFB near Riverside has as an awesome Heritage Museum as well. Cheers and have fun! Aaron
The Heretige Museum is a excellent place to visit. They have many aircraft that were once in service outside of the museum that are a real sight to see! Inside you will find more planes and artifacts. They even have a section where you will be emersed in everything that has to do with the prestigious Tuskege Airmen. In the back you will find different kinds of jet engines and NASA rockets. They also have a replica of the Atomic Bomb!
