The hours posted on Google are WRONG. Call ahead and make sure you talk to a live person to get the correct hours. If you get there and the VCC is closed, you will have a very difficult time getting on base - if they let you on at all.

Called them and I got the answering machine after pressing option 1. The answering machine says they are currently busy with other customers and says that they are open until 2130 hours. It’s currently 1628 hours and the doors are locked—no one’s here. No signs outside that says they close early today or anything like that. Obviously it’s a waste of time for everybody. Lesson learned. Don’t trust voicemails. So much for attention to detail.

Overall I had a good experience. Although, I found out the hard way that you need proof of current registration for your vehicle to get inside the base. I had just paid mine online and hadn't gotten my new sticker. Either way, I still got a pass (but had to leave my car at the visitor center) and the person I was visiting picked me up. The woman at the front desk was nice and helpful.

Obtaining a base clearance was quick and painless my wife received a 72 hour pass for my hip replacement she stayed at the Fisher house they were very congenial everything went very smooth everyone was very helpful and kind
