Are you a VSP member and what insurance plan are you part of ?---I am on UHC for medical and VSP for optical. My latest appt. with an MD who is part of UHC has pretty much put me in shock after seeing my latest bill for eye exam .

Hi. First, we are in-network for some plans under VSP Signature and Choice. You can contact VSP and see if we are in-network, or you can call our office-provide us with your insurance information and we can look that up for you. If you had UHC billed for an eye exam, that would have been for a medical reason. That is sometimes applied to a patients deductible, sometimes it's just a co-pay, depends on what is considered 'routine' care. Diabetic eye exams usually fall under 'routine' and will be a co-pay, if a patient has a cataract complaint that could go to deductible.
