Yes you can bring your own food and drinks, although not your own alcoholic drinks. They were really easy to deal with when we went.
There's even a little picnic area near the front of the park, near the petting zoo. We just had snacks there this time but as long as it isnt in a cooler you're good to go [think backpack]
