Made an appointment to get my car looked at and was told it would take about an hour. I come back an hour later and my car hasn't even been looked at. What is the purpose of appointments?

Never have i waited at the doctors for over an hour when i have an appointment. Im here now at anglers getting my car looked at. Also i have been coming here for the last several years off and on when my car needed service and have never had this issue.
