They have fire pits in designated areas. But no barbecuing. You can BBQ at mission bay on the grass areas.

They are having bonfires. Some have coal pits to put in. There's some one you can call to rent a fire pit and buy wood for a few hours. Then someone comes and cleans it up when the time is up.
