I purchased Wilton chocolate melts to make chocolate covered strawberries. Haven't done this before, and don't own an actual melting pot. Also don't have a stove. Would it be better to melt in microwave w/ ceramic bowl, or with mini slow cooker?

The Crock-Pot would work better. Good luck!

Make a double boiler. Put water in a medium pot, put the chocolate in a bowl that fits in the pot but does not touch the water. Heat the water but do not let it boil. The chocolate will melt slowly, stir as it melts. The choc will stay melted for a bit after you remove from heat if you keep the bowl in the pot. If it starts to harden, return to stove. Don't let water completely evaporate out of pot. This method prevents chocolate from crystallizing. **Can use a microwave, but do it slow, 1 min @ a time & stir in between. It is easy to overheat & crystallize the chocolate which will not allow you to dip berries. It needs to be smooth & kind of liquidy for a nicely dipped berry

Thanks. This can be done in the microwave? (Don't have a stove available)
