Don't know walked from the hotel
I do not know as I used the trolley to go down town. It's inexpensive and you don't have the hassle of having to find somewhere to park. Enjoy your time.
I guess it depends on how you define "expensive." Urban parking in SD is high, but it isn't LA, SF, or Chicago. If you want to walk a bit, lots are cheaper and maybe on a weekend you can get a street spot. Do not use the Seaport Village lot, tho. That is not a flat fee, and if you stay awhile, that will really roll up a fee. Depending on what else you might want to do downtown, and where you are coming from you can actually park free at the Old Town Transit Center and take the Trolley downtown.
Depends if you get the parking you pay for, or your lucky enough to get the roadside. If you are gonna pay, it depends where in San Diego you're parking in.
