Camp North Star is known as either a sleep away camp or an overnight camp. Those terms are interchangeable. The campers live at Camp North Star for anywhere from 2 - 7 weeks. We have very modern cabins with private bathroom. There are 2 - 3 staff and 8 - 10 campers in every cabin. Being away from home teaches the campers some independence, responsibility and critical thinking skills that they wouldn't learn at a day camp.
The campers go home every night in some camps, also known as day camps. ... In the United States, residential camps with overnight facilities are sometimes referred to as "sleepwalks."
