Its hard to predict since I don't know the age of your children and the park is only open 7-8 hours in the winter/off season. There is a fast pass option but it is an extra $100+. With teenagers and adults you could definitely finish the rides and major attractions in one day with purpose. The aquarium is also an excellent feature and worth your time.
You need to arrive first thing in the morning in order to visit every single area comfortably.
We took my son fir his 4th about 2 saturdays ago. We got there at noon and stayed til the park closed. Of course he whined that he wanted to stay as we were leaving, but he also fell asleep in the car before we got to the frwy about 2 mins. outside of the parking lot. I think older kids need the full day, and any kid older than 12 really wont be interested.
It really depends. Some days when there are lots of people, others there aren't, and if you want to do all the rides, or just a few. So personally I would plan to spend a whole day there, or at least make it the main attraction of the day.
My ten year old was good with a half day
