Apparently Willamette Park is woefully remiss. I think they should have a bevy of junior life jackets for kids on the dock. It's very popular in the summer, and during the winter paddle boarders line up here. The fish around the dock are Pike, perch, and carp. You might get lucky casting out.
Apparently not although this park supports the launching of fishing boats on to the Willamette River. According to the City of Portland website fishing at the following locations: Kelley Point Park, N. Marine Dr & Lombard St – Columbia Slough, Willamette and Columbia Rivers Cathedral Park, N. Edison & Pittsburg Ave – permitted in the entirety of the park as well as Cathedral Park’s fishing and light watercraft pier (at the south end of the park) Sellwood Riverfront Park, SE Spokane & Oaks Pkwy Powers Marine Park, SW Macadam Ave south of the Sellwood Bridge Eastbank Esplanade, floating walkway between the Steel and Morrison bridges Anglers must comply with the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife’s Oregon Sport Fishing Regulations.
