Onewheel report: good spot though watch for bumpy roads. Hit it up on a Wednesday afternoon. Finally found the bike path/road to cross the Sellwood bridge. Pretty cool, though the food carts across the ridge (PicNik park) closes at 8 and I got there at 810. Lol

I was disappointed by this park unfortunately. One of the few pay-to-park in the area ($10/day) with no real beach that I found after walking up and down it. Off-leash dog area has minimal shading for hot days; it's a small, fenced, dirt patch... nothing more. I think for other activities such as parties, games, boating, this is a great hub to launch from, sure. For a relaxing riverside time with a friend or dogs, not so much. There are many other free parks with more natural features, water access, "beach" accessibility, better dog areas, etc. This spot is nice, but underwhelming compared to nearby offerings. I personally do not understand the love for this park, though maybe I am spoiled from spending time at other convenient, beautiful parks in the sunshine.

Amazing open space in the midst of all the hustle and bustle of the city. Can bring your picnic basket and spend an entire day here. Also the boat loading facility and parking space is awesome. If nothing then just wear your running shoes or bring your bicycle for some stretching!

Big park, generous parking and boat launch space. Easy access to the Wilamette and downtown PDX if you paddle. $5 day to park is not bad. Lots to do and see here.

I have no idea. I go to the park twice a week to play tennis but I never see anyone fishing off the dock. I see alot of folks launching their boats looking like they are off to fish somewhere on the river.
Yes, water is comfortable. Take care, there is a surprisingly deceptive current, be safe with a flotation device.
There are picnic tables around the park, not covered. However, in the southern part of the park there are covered picnic tables. They are available for renting out for events as well.
Apparently Willamette Park is woefully remiss. I think they should have a bevy of junior life jackets for kids on the dock. It's very popular in the summer, and during the winter paddle boarders line up here. The fish around the dock are Pike, perch, and carp. You might get lucky casting out.
It shouldn't be a problem, i believe there's a 72hr sign, also the crime is not an issue either.
Was there in that wind storm, it was so cool.
