Have any of the people who built PDX considered how much more difficult it is to roll baggage on carpet than it is on a hard surface, like most all other inernational destinations?

Check the wheels on your luggage, the carpet isn't thick or anything it's just as easy to move your luggage across it as it is to do it on tiles.

Other than that, it seems to be an excellent airport. Great concessions.

Carpet diminished the noise level dramatically. Sorry get a porter

Originally the airport had tiled floors. The carpet came in the 1980s.
