You can also do work based learning. Staff members help line you up with a job that reflects the trade skills you are learning. I'm a cement instructor so I try to get my students jobs with contractors. This let's my students work on a construction sight during the trade day. Leisure time employment is available to, I believe, platinum and gold phase students who have been in the program for at least 90 days. I'd have to look up specifics, but once you meet the requirements, you find a job you want, go through your counselor to get the proper approval and boom! You got a job. And like Ken said, there is also work based learning which is working during trade hours at a job that is specific to your trade.
