I pre Adopted a dog 5 days ago. They said before I can take him home he needs to have a vet work up. How long does it take for the shelter to show a dog to the vet?

I adopted on Wednesday and I’ll be lucky if I can take my pup home on Saturday. They are very backed up apparently

It should take long at all since they have a vet on duty at the shelter
