It's best to get a reservation if it's the busy season. Otherwise, you can buy tickets at the dock.
With it being Summer, I would get a reservation. Bring your camera, with a strap!!! Bring sunscreen, a hat and dress in layers. And do not be late! They WILL leave on time & without you if your late!! :(
