We had a wonderful day whale watching. We saw some dolphins going out and were actually headed back to shore, thinking we were not going to see a whale, when a Blue whale appeared. It was amazing to see. Then more dolphins swam along the boat and were jumping out of the water! Luckily, Ryan was taking amazing photos as you just can't catch them well on a phone camera. We were more than happy to purchase the photos he got to remember our experience. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. We would definitely do this again! Thank you all for such a great experience!

We had a group of seven ranging in age from 1 to 74, everyone had a great time on the boat! We saw a couple grey whales and some dolphins. The onboard naturalist shared a lot of interesting info and his manner was engaging. The person who answered the phone to book our trip was nice, and every member of the onboard crew was friendly. I've been on a few whale and wildlife watching cruises in several states and this experience tops the list. Thanks crew!

Vanessa did fantastic work helping Connect English plan a perfect field trip. She really has the ability to handle everything, even going as far as being the leader of our school's trip. Their reservation system works well, their schedule is flexible enough to satisfy, and their check-in expertise for large groups was an excellent overlay for our own "organization" efforts. When Vanessa saw us falling behind, she joined our efforts and helped us get things done. The students and teachers absolutely loved this beautiful day of dolphins and whales on the Pacific Ocean. For many of our students, this was their first time ever seeing a dolphin. For even more of our students, it was their first whale sighting ever. Thank you, San Diego Whale Watch.

It was a nice experience. Although we didn't get to see whales, we still got to see a lot of different dolphins. It was nice to get to go far to the ocean. They had food and drinks for sale in the boat. All the crews were very informational and professional.

Hello! Depending on the local weather for the day, it can get anywhere between 10-15 degrees cooler on the water than it is here on land. During cooler months, we recommend bringing layers of clothing/jackets. Thank you!
Hi! You can rent binoculars on the day of your trip or by pre-ordering with your tickets. They are $5 per rental. Thank you.
We recommend arriving at least 45 minutes prior to departure
Yes when they're boarding they're very busy
You'll have to call them or look on their website.
We are lucky in San Diego to be able to see a variety of baleen whales all year round. Jan-March is likely your best chance to see a baleen whale though with the grey whale migration. We travel up to 12 miles from shore.
Yes there is. Also at the hotel next door. Just remember to get your parking ticket validated.
I just came back from SD Whale watching I am 69 years old and disabled. The staff were very helpful assisting me down the ramp and into the boat. I sat inside in a comfortable booth and had 7 separate sightings .some times the same whale the same whale multiple timesm. Well worth the trip.
Copied directly from their website $48 Adults $44 Military, Senior Citizens & Kids (0-17)
I have seen people bring coffee, etc on board but not alcoholic beverages as they sell that on the boat
Cash or card is taken. Also, you can buy on line. When you get there go to check in booth by restaurant. Happy whaling!
Please visit our website for a calendar of our tour dates and times. www.sdwhalewatch.com www.cruise-sd.com We look forward to seeing you!
we went on the 9 am tour and saw grey whales and dolphins and sea lions. The weather was great and the water was calmer. They say it’s easier to see them in the morning . But unsure
You can check their website to see when they do tours for those days but I remember going on a tour on the weekend so I would assume they do at least have one, one of those days
Seaforth sport Fishing is open for the fisherman. There fishing boats leave at 530am. Your whale boat leaves at 10am. Have fun on the water
Yes an it's free. Have fun the Grey Whales are on the move. There should be more Dolphins then you can shake a stick at lol. You should go the afternoon an catch the sunset! Enjoy
Hi Jim! Yes, we have two trips! Please see our website, sdwhalewatch.com and click "Book Now" to see all upcoming trips scheduled. Watching whales is a great way to ring in the New Year!
We went the end of March seen a lot of whales and sea lions but different whales migrate at different times
I have seen dolphins one morning and whales one afternoon. Bonus for afternoon is, that the Tour Guide had been on tour already and can manage the Tour and Expexctations in the afternoon better
Actually all year long, just different whales each season. Blue whales & Gray whales migrate at different times of the year.
48 for adults, 44 for seniors and children
