Yeah, they do have an octopus that you can get really close to as it is in an open pool BUT you are not premittted to touch. Understand this is a pretty small aquarium, good for 1-2 hours depending on how long you like to play with the seals....the seals you can touch, if they let you....if you offer them fish.
Oh man! 30 years ago I went to the seaside aquarium and remember looking at the octopus. My folks were holding me up so I could look down into the tank. The octopus was looking right back up at me with his squinty eyes. My folks must have been distracted for a second or something because I got it in my head that he looked so nice that I’d like to shake his hand. So I did. I remember one of the workers and my dad working on popping his suction cups off my wrist. He didn’t seem aggressive and I wasn’t scared. Nobody seemed too worried about it. Good memory
The aquarium down in Newport Oregon I think is better.
Handling an octopus is very dangerous, even for adults.
Yes! There is 🐙 there! Your son will have a great time!
If i remember correctly, they only have one or two octopi there. For a big birthday trip I'd say this place would not meet any expectations unfortunately. They do have big family of harbor seals there that you can feed though, like, throw cut up fish to. Thats pretty cool. But their collection of sea life as a whole if kinda underwhelming.
They do have one. It sometimes moves around and is cool but they don't let you touch it.
There is an octopus there, but they don't let you pick it up or touch it in the water.
