Does this aquarium keep seals overcrowded in tiny tanks? Does it keep an extremely intelligent octopus trapped in a tiny cage without any mental enrichment? Because I read an article about how it does these horrible things.

Yeah no the seals have another room where they can escape the paparazzi of the public and and octopus has plenty of space to move around freely. We would not have them if we could not properly accommodate their needs.

No. I just went and checked it out today actually and the seals are happy and playful. There is a room where they can come to the front and see the guests and have treats but they arent fighting for food. This is in addition to their meal and they all seemed very happy and sweet with their own personalities. There is a whole other room they can swim to if they dont feel up for visitors or want more space to swim around but you can see that most of the enjoy coming to the front room. There is no trainer forcing them to do tricks or anything either. Jusy a bunch of happy seals playing and hanging out doing their own thing being themselves. The 2 octopuses have a large area as well and are moved to a smaller tank during feeding time. The room where guests are allowed to visit is very small but you dont see all the other behind the scenes space. From the outside you can tell it's a whole lot bigger.

NO. THEY HAVE PLENTY OF ROOM!

Christopher Budge | Aug 17, 2019

Seriously, they have a lot of room. The other thing that the "articles" fail to mention is many of these animals are ones fishers would have killed anyways. That is where they get most of them according to the aquarium staff there. That is where they got their Pacific octopus thats in the large tank. Also the biggest octopus could easily get out if they wanted to, but they dont.

They have a larger tank off to the side.. if you would like to see for yourself go there.. I have been there several times in my life and you can watch them swim out to the public viewing area to get treats from guests, when they want to be away from the public or just go for a swim they swim thu to another room, with a larger pool, they move freely between the large privet pool and the smaller public viewing area
