I don't understand how doctors and nurses can justify their non-treatment of patients. If you hate people so much, why are you even allowed to work in an ER?

I'm only one person but I've had 3 surgeries at St. Clare, all successful and the care I received was great. My husband had prostate surgery there too and his opinion is the same as mine. I'm not sure about the experiences in the ER for others but that ER saved the life of my best friend when I took him in. He's still glad that's where he went and says they gave him his life back that night.

St. Clare has changed since my first review. During my visit, I lost my black shoes and flower vase. The manager wanted to blame the EMTs and the skilled nursing facility for the loss. There were some nice nurses, others that resembled Nurse Ratchet . So I can not give a good review. I'd say it was definitely a one star. o. I have been to St. Clare several times. Each time, the quality of care was great and the staff was kind. I have no idea how St. Clare's got such a bad reputation.

I have been a St. Clare patient many times, for E.R. admissions and for major surgery. I could not ask for better care. Although retired now, I worked as an R.N. in two of N.Y.C's major university hospitals and at Memorial Sloane Kettering, so I recognize good work when I see it. The Franciscan Hospitals here deserve high praise.

Found supervision policy nonexistent. Staff was intelligent but lacked desire to think for themselves. NO ONE MONITORED PATIENT DISTRESS ALARM. Daughter pushed Alarm button and no response for over 20 minutes. Theyjustify as “other patients required attention” but saw Nurses in hallway doing nothing. No one assigned to Nurse Desk to at least call any room’s alarm. No one could find senior nurse in charge when I requested. Management at fault!!

I love this hospital. I haven't gone there for a year but my care was wonderful! I hate to hear that it's not doing well

I didn't have a problem with anyone there. One admission person was stand offish, the other lady in admissions was nice. The young kid who brought in lunch wouldn't even look at me when bringing in the food both times. But other than that, everyone was really nice and had a sense of humor. Which was refreshing. I can't stand places that no one knows how to take a joke. I also had a surgery done, so maybe that's why I had a different experience. If ER is where the problem is, trying going through registration first. Might have better results there rather than going to ER.
