I have a message on my HP 8600 printer that says a printhead appears to be missing or incorrectly installed. It is probably 5 years old. Can you fix it or is it not worth fixing? Where could someone fix it? Pat Carney

Best to buy new

Not cost effective. Time for a new printer. Take the old when with you to recycle. If you purchase new one at best buy they will take old one. Donelle

Clean your print heads. Use a qtip and a very small amount of alcohol. If that doesn't work, check your driver. Your registry could be reading a false message back to the CPU. If updated drivers don't fix it either, it's a hardware problem and you will need to get a new printer.
