Agreed ^. The physics are generally the same but longboarding is a lot less forgiving and takes a lot more effort to nail a proper stand up slide. That being said, I get a lot more satisfaction out of longboarding because of the difficulty and some of the extra danger as well.

Kind of Yes but mostly no. Only if you have done stand up slides does longboarding really translate to snowboarding. In my opinion at least. 😊
