PODS customers are responsible for locking their portable container. You can use your own lock or one can be delivered with your container. Either way, you're the only one with the key.
Yes, they do need to put a lock onto the unit. You do have two options. One you bring your own lock, or two, you can purchase one from them. When you purchase one from them, they just add it onto your storage bill as a one time purchase.
