I live in Salem and always have fresh seed and water out, but for last couple of months I only have one blue jay and one pair of gold finches using them when every year before I saw many sparrows, finches, chickadees, and others...what's going on?

You would be better served to call a local bird food shop. (Try an animal feed shop). If they don't know, then try calling Wildlife Care Center. I don't think they have an email hotline.
