Basically they're a store (albeit a terrible one) and they have the right to refuse service to you. Meaning you didn't have to oblige their request to leave your hiking gear, but it you had refused they could have trespassed you. Just another element of service is policy. It's not public property. If you don't like it shop somewhere else.
Well im not a manager nor do i work there but from an customers stand point, thats not right at all. As for the liability i wouldn't know. Its seems a little fishy if you ask me. I dont know about the purses but if that's the case then thats really a f**** up thing to do. Leaving anything in the front of Walmart is both fishy and f**** up especially since some people have medicine that they have to take during the day. Sorry if i didn't help.
