If I bought a item mistaking for something similar because it was in the wrong spot and I want to exchange it, I’m expecting to get the sales price even so that it was the last day and also the one I got wasn’t on sale.

Sounds too general. It will depend on the product. But usually the store will not take responsibility for customers leaving products in the wrong location.
