I used holiday china travel agency in Seattle for.over ten years. So im assuming you can go to any travel agency in whatever city you live. Fill out a visa application online - its about 4 pages. Then submit that along with your passport to your agent and pay the fee of $180...which includes processing fee. All your paperwork will be sent to the Chinese embassy in SF to be processed. Give yourself about 2 - 3 weeks...the earlier the better before you leave...it will be less stressful. Once your agent receives your passport back they will.cintact you...at least my agent did. :)
About $200 for a 10yr multiple entry Chinese Visa. You need to complete your paperwork and present for payment with your passport and then return to pick up your passport. They may have mail options.
