Alaska will allow the child to fly alone and they charge an extra 25.00 to escort the child to gates if there is a gate change. They take the child to the person waiting and I watched this first hand. They had the person taking the child to sign a paper. From my recent flight , I sat beside a 10 year old. They get an iPad to watch movies and on the food cart, they can pick a food item. I'd feel safe knowing that they do have a flight attendant escorting them.
That depends upon the airline and the destination. Please call the airline that you are considering and see what their requirements are for her to travel.
