History of Washington
Yes, the Washington State History Museum is about the history of Washington State and relation to the Pacific Northwest with artifacts from Women's Suffrage, Industrialization, Native American Tribes and items such as Clovis Points.
It is about the history of communities, cultures, industries and more in Washington. As such it has many ties to broader history. For example, the Washington: My Home gallery is about immigration and migration to the state, with connections to stories about places in the world where people have traveled from. The museum also has traveling exhibitions that are not Washington based. This summer "New Moon Rises" comes from the Smithsonian with large scale images of the moon's surface, moon rocks, and other artifacts. The local connection with that will be an added section about Bechtel's connection to the Apollo 11 mission via the Lunar Rover. Another example is Little Black Dress, opening August 31, which explores the history and customs of women wearing black dresses from the late 1800s through 20th century, and that subject applies to the broader US culture not specifically to WA, although the clothing will be drawn from the History Museum's collections.
